Removing Stains using Green Cleaning Solutions


Carpet Stains: Mix 2 tablespoons of liquid soap with 3 tablespoons of vinegar and one quart of water. Work the solution into the carpet stain, careful not to soak the carpet. Blot with a clean cloth and repeat if needed.

Clothing stains: Blot the spot with paper towel then dampened with a solution ½ baking soda and ½ vinegar, then wash.

Antiperspirant or Deoderant stains: blot the stain with a solution of ½ baking soda and ½ vinegar. Then wash.

Grass stains: Mix 1/3 cup vinegar with 2/3 cup water. Apply the solution on the stain and then blot with towel. Repeat if needed and then wash.

Mildew: Pat with straight vinegar on area to kill mildew. Set in the sun for a couple of hours and then wash.

Grease stains: make a paste of baking soda and water, rub on stain, let sit for 15 minutes and then wash.

Red Wine Stains: Club Soda is great for cleaning red wine stains.  Another way is to take a towel to soak up as much wine as possible, Pour salt on the stain covering it completely.  Let it sit until the salt has absorbed the wine and then rinse.

Blood Stains: Blot with hydrogen peroxide, and soak in cold water with a little bit of liquid soap overnight.

Leather Stains:  Beat an egg white until stiff, rub the egg into the leather with a cloth, continue until the stain disappears.

Tea Kettle: Remove lime coating on your kettle: fill it with water, add a half-cup of vinegar. Let stand overnight, rinse with clean water and dry.

Toilet bowl rings: Sprinkle baking soda around the rim and scrub with a toilet brush.
